1) What is the main challenge holding you back from playing the piano?

Bad time management. I play the guitar, so whenever I decide to play I usually go straight for it, hoping to practice the keyboard in the same session. The problem is that I want to play something that I enjoy, so I spend more time with the guitar than I plan to, and get very little practice in with the keyboard.

2) What are the other obstacles keeping you from playing the piano like you’ve always dreamed?

Limited proficiency at reading sheet music, being able to play the piano in only the key of C, limitations in finger movements and playing arpeggios.

3) What song or type of music have you always wanted to play?

I want to be able to play most types of music, but jazz and classical in particular. I play classical guitar, so being able to do it on the piano would just complete my dream.

4) What are the three greatest benefits you’ll enjoy from playing the piano?

Satisfaction, the freedom to express myself in another medium, being able to play a keyboard whenever there is one around. ability to accompany myself or someone else who is singing.

I agree completely. When I finish a song I feel a mental rush like when I finish a project at work.
