Amazing 8 Week Leap of Progress
Needing motivation? Just a short 8 weeks ago my two youngest children decided to challenge themselves with learning a new song on the piano. They set out to search for a piano piece that appeals to them, and they both ended up with difficult compositions by the famous David Lanz. These pieces are beyond their current music reading skills and being a mom, I did not (though I was tempted) to say… you can’t do that..it’s too hard for you. I refrained from saying anything and, as most of you already know… they have been showing amazing progress!
This video is week 8 for Jacob…. Jasmine was not ready this time, so I don’t have a new video of her… but you are going to be amazed at the progress Jacob has made from just week 6 to week 8.
If you have not been following this story… you can find the beginning of the story and the first progress videos on the left side of this page, at the bottom of all the links. There is a link called Follow Kids Progress. I think you will enjoy it!
For those who love to make comments… I highly encourage them because both Jacob and Jasmine look forward to hearing your words of encouragement… I think this is what keeps them going!
Here is Jacob’s 8 week video:

Hi Jacob!
Great Job; I am never sure I can play when I look at your mom doing so perfectly (she is the teacher!!).
But seeing your finger moving on the piano like that, only after a couple of week is amazing and give me hope (smile)! Congratulations.
Thank you and don’t give up!
.
I am so motivated by what i have seen. In just a short time, see how the little hands move so nicely and yet my large hands struggle to move rhythmically on the keys. Thats really great…and your mum is great too.
Jacob: Absolutely wonderful. I hope you enjoy playing as much as I enjoy listening to you play. I see wonderful things in the future for you. You have the right touch. Please keep up the good work.

Me and my 8 year old daughter Sofia are following you from the United Kingdom. Your progress truly is an inspiration for both of us who are just beginning the journey. You’ve got to the part I’m just dreaming of right now, where the beautiful sound of the music you produce must be great reward and spur you onwards. Keep it up and reach new heights! I’m sure you make your mom proud!
good on you, jacob! you really amazed me!i wish i could do that when i was your age. keep on the good work
A real pleasure to listen to your music, Jacob. You obviously enjoy the whole experience. As one who is still working her way thru level 6 I can only dream of such success. You have a great talent.
Jacob, you are so (AWESOME) . God has given you a great talent. I pray all the time to be able to play like that some day soon. I’ve been trying to learn to play piano since June of 09 and I am no where close to being as good as you. I will not stop trying. I’m in the process of taking Ms. Lisa’s free lessons on line now. I just started with her and hope to learn faster. May God continue to bless the works of your hands. You keep up the good work. J.
very nice job. keep playing, by the time you are 25 or before then, you will not be playing for the piano. the piano will be playing for you..that piano will be singing to your tune in no time.
would love to see an update on your process since this was last posted also.
