Step by Step Fingering

Left Hand:

You will probably need to print these directions so you can refer to it as you are looking at the song.

1. Place your left hand on the keyboard with your 3rd finger on A, just as indicated on the first note of the left hand. Doing this will automatically place your thumb (finger #1) on Middle C.

2. Staying in this position, play the first note of measure #2, (A), with your 3rd finger as indicated.

3. Stay in this position and continue to play each note using the fingers that are in place. You will notice that in measure 4 and 5 you have a B flat. Your #2 finger, which should be resting on B will move slightly left to play the B flat (a black key). Note* DO NOT leave your hand position, just move finger #2 slightly left, play the B flat, then put your finger back on B.

4. Stay in position through measure 7.

5. Measure 8 changes position. You will see that your first note in measure 8 is a low C. It has a #5 marked on it indicating your #5 finger. Place your #5 finger on C. You are now in C chord position. Stay in this position for measures 8 and 9.

6. Repeat directions 1-3 for measures 10-13.

7. Measure 14 puts your #2 finger on A, which shifts your whole hand to the left 1 key, putting your thumb on B. Stay in that position for measure 14 and 15.

8. Measure 16 puts your #5 finger on F, which shifts your whole hand to the right 1 key, putting your thumb on Middle C again. Stay in that position for measures 16-18.

9. When you get to measure 18, play F with your pinky (#5) as indicated, then play the interval of A and Middle C with fingers #3 and #1 at the same time.

10. Measure 19 puts your pinky (#5 finger) back on low C again... 11. Measure 20 puts your pinky (#5 finger)on F again....stay there through measure 23.

12. Measure 24 puts your pinky (#5 finger) back on low C again, through measure 25.

13. Measure 26-30 puts your pinky (#5 finger) back on F.

14. Measure 31, pinky (#5 finger) is on E.

15. Measure 32, follow finger numbers EXACT through end of song.
