This is a commonly asked question, but the question should be clarified. You should be asking this instead… will I be able to play classical, pop, jazz or gospel after completing the program?
You see, once you learn the basics of reading music, or playing by ear if that is what you choose, then you can apply your new skills to any type of music that you choose.
In general, once you know how to play music, whether it is by note or by ear,you will be able to apply it and play any style of music you desire. Some people like to specialize in a favorite type of music, and that is totally up to you.
You might surprise yourself and find out that you will have a favorite kind of music that you enjoy playing. It might not be your favorite type of listening music.
For example, I absolutely love to play Mozart’s music because his finger movements are fun and it makes me feel accomplished after I learn one of his pieces.
However, Mozart is not my favorite type of listening music. So, don’t be surprised when after you start playing the piano, your fingers start craving a particular type of movement, and that will become your favorite type of music to play! ~smile~
